Johnson delighted with Marc

Ringmer manager Steve Johnson reckons new striker Marc Whiteman could help push the Blues into the promotion shake-up.

Johnson said: 'Marc has got all the qualities, is neat and tidy and when we get the ball forward he doesn't lose it.

'That gives us the time to build and regroup and it's showing in the other players's performances.

'Miles Scerri has started scoring and apart from netting against Worthing on Tuesday evening Marc was involved in the four other goals. He's playing with a smile on his face again and if we can keep him we could be going places.

'We're looking a half decent team now and I knew that would happen. It's getting hard to leave people out.'

Whiteman scored one of the goals in Ringmer's 2-2 draw on Saturday and netted one and had a hand in the other four as the Blues thrashed Worthing United 5-1 on Tuesday evening.
