LEE'S AIMING FOR WIMBLEDON WILDCARD

MARTIN LEE hunts this week one of four remaining Wimbledon wild cards available for British players. He plays in an all British tournament at Raynes Park, ending tomorrow (Friday), where the last four survivors will get one.

Lee, 26, Worthing-bred and the son of Angmering-On-Sea LTC coach Brian Lee, is coming back from a groin injury. The former British No 3 played his first event for nine months in the Stella Artois qualifiers at Queens Club.

The left-hander lost in three sets to Nenad Zimonjic, the 6ft 4in, 28-year-old Yugoslavian who is a world Top-20 doubles player.

Lee said: "The new grass was slippery and I was quite pleased with that performance." He will go in the Nottingham qualifiers at the weekend and, if necessary, to Wimbledon on Tuesday.
