Leo says he isn't going to fall out

REBELS midfielder Leo Day says he will not be vindictive towards the team management after quitting Woodside.

He walked out after not making himself available for Saturday's game at Whitstable - see story in the Herald.

Day commented: "I won't be falling out with them. I first played for Alan Pook when I was 16, for Burgess Hill Youth, and I was in their first team when Danny Bloor was manager there."

"They have been making a lot of team changes and feel as though they must until something clicks."

On one recent occasion something did click, if winning matches is the indicator: Leatherhead on February 2, where Worthing, starting in 4-3-3 then going to 4-4-2, won for the only time in a 13-match spell and with their only shut-out in their last six.

Day started the game at left-back, in emergency when he replaced Andy Alexander.

Day, who joined Rebels in November 2006, said: "At 27, I've got to be playing on a regular basis but I feel I've been left unfairly on the bench a lot of the time."

Worthing first put it out that Day was to take a break from football. But he will rejoin East Preston.
