London marathon is number 15 for Horsham’s Colin, 70

Three friends from Mel’s Milers jogging club completed the London Marathon in perfect weather conditions which brought record crowds to turn out in support.

Billingshurst residents Robin Fairhurst and Rick Duffy joined fellow runner and Horsham resident Colin Shaw in their group attempt to finish the marathon.

The trio ran the entire marathon together, with Rick and Robin finishing in 4hrs 56 mins and Colin in 5hrs. Although the ‘Three Amigos’ had all run previous marathons, this was a particularly special race, as Colin, who turned 70 last summer, wanted to add one more marathon to his previous 14.
