Lucky half-dozen in with a shout of winning share of Sussex racehorse

The Observer can announce the lucky readers still in the hunt to win an all-expenses-paid share in Heart of the South Racing’s exciting colt.

Chichester’s Jill Arnell is in the mix for the one-20th share, while Havant’s Doug Tibbetts and Fareham’s Gemma Cunningham have also made it through. They are joined by Mrs E Watts from Crawley, Eastbourne’s Brian Lakin and Mrs J Warren of Worthing.

The colt, a son of Imperial Dancer, is in training with former Pompey and England striker Mick Channon. The Berkshire handler is putting the two-year-old through his paces and is thrilled with his progress.

And one of our six lucky winners is set to play a part in the youngster’s debut campaign.

Over a six-week period we fired racing questions at you, with one winner drawn each week. Each victor gets a ticket to Fontwell’s premier enclosure and betting vouchers worth £25.

Any day now, they will be invited to meet the colt at Channon’s West Ilsley headquarters, where the overall winner will be drawn.

The triumphant shareholder will experience all the thrills and spills of racehorse ownership, from helping name the colt and watching him train on the gallops to roaring him on at the track.

The two-year-old was broken in at Robbie Brisland’s New Barn Farm yard before moving to Channon’s in December.
