Mick Channon secures trainer's award at Goodwood

SOUTH coast football and racing legend Mick Channon secured the Rodman Boats Leading Trainer Award as Goodwood Racecourse welcomed back the boating community last week (Thursday, 24 May) for the fifth Boating Comes to Goodwood raceday.

It was another opportunity for representatives of the boating industry to enjoy a fantastic day of top quality racing '“ and they were able to do so in glorious sunshine.

Jimmy Fortune stormed to victory in the race for the Azimut Yachts Leading Jockey Award, while Channon's two winners secured him the Rodman Boats Leading Trainer Award.

Boating Comes to Goodwood is the brainchild of Brian Peters OBE, Chairman of Europe's largest independent boat retailer, Peters-Opal. He said: "It was another fantastic event. It's a wonderful source of relaxation, a great source of networking, and it's one of the few days off we get in the boating industry at this time of year.
