MISERLY ARUNDEL TAKE POINTS

A MISERLY bowling performance meant that Arundel achieved a comfortable victory at Burgess Hill with 3.1 overs to spare on Saturday.

Hillians took 55.5 overs to muster just 131-7, with only their skipper, Paul Edwards able to make any meaningful headway against the tight attack, with 38. Apart from that, Dave Pratt's unbeaten 22 near the tail of the innings was all that troubled Arundel.

Although Steve Mullen led the wicket-takers with 3-45 from 12.5 overs, three bowlers Neil Mustard, Chris Wall and Neil Chitty all went for less than two an over. Their combined effort of 37 overs cost just 63 runs and strangled the life out of the Burgess Hill top order.
