NEW SKIPPER EYES PROMOTION

JUST four weeks into the new cricket season, Sam Jones has replaced Jamie Howick as Portslade Cricket Club's captain.Jones, aged 19, is looking forward to the challenge and hopes to be in the promotion shake-up at the end of the season.

He said: "We definately have a chance of going up. I'm looking forward to the challenge of being captain although I was a bit reluctant at first.

"I'm going to keep on with what we have started by bringing the youngsters on. Tom Van Der Newt and Paul Glover both have massive futures."
