New Town boss sees the Light

NEW Bexhill Town manager Gary Light saw enough from his first match in charge to give him hope for the future.

The Green Machine may have been beaten 3-1 away to Edwards Sports in the Sussex Intermediate Cup, but the second half performance was a step in the right direction.

He said: "We gave them a two goal start but the players responded to a talk at half-time and they player much better in the second half and the important thing their heads never dropped.

"It s going to take a little while to sort out but the signs are encouraging."

He went on: "The players have reacted very well to my arrival. They have not let me down on the pitch and they have not let me down in training and everybody wants to play."

Light has signed 25-year-old midfielder Ross Osborne from Shinewater Association and he is expected to go straight into the team for the home game against Haywards Heath Town on Saturday November 17, kick-off 2pm.

More new arrivals are expected as Light begins the task of pulling Bexhill away from the lower reaches of the Sussex Third Division.
