Horsham district Mystery Tour 06

This church’s age alone makes it worthy of a second glance - the building and tower date back to the mid-12th century.

It was built on the site of an even older church, which was either Saxon or very early Norman.

The building’s architecture is an unusual mixture of styles, combining to create a stern, almost militaristic look.

Perhaps this is only to be expected, since the builders themselves were unusual, stern, and militaristic - this church was built by the Knights Templar.
