Oak end home win wait

MILE OAK FC recorded their first home league win since September 30 when a double from Paul Eaton and one by Nick Lansdale saw off a tepid, disinterested Peacehaven at Chalky Road on Saturday.

Haven began the day in second place in Division 2, but quite how they are there is a mystery, based on this ramshackle display. Unquestionably, their best player was keeper Simon Parsons, and had he not been in excellent form, then double figures might have been a possibility.

Eaton's brace came within the space of three minutes, and that was after he missed a penalty. The first came on 12 minutes, when he finished off, unmarked, Jamie Ash's cross via the far post. And then Chris Pulling laid the ball into the path of Eaton, who turned his man and rolled the ball into the far corner for what should have been his hat-trick.
