The former Olympian, who lives in Horsham and used to partner Tom Daley, has donated a kit bag full of tracksuits and polo shirts to Chloe’s in the Bishopric.

Aldridge, 32, who is also a cliff diver, hopes the clothing will go to a worthy new home, either of a sportsman or a patriotic fan, as well as raising money for the charity.

He said: “It’s a build-up of stuff that I have got over the years when competing for Team GB that I will probably never wear again.

“It’s got some sentimental value, but I am pretty sure I will carry on competing for Team GB and they change the kit every year, so I will build up a lot more.

“It can be for anyone really. Anyone that loves sport or that is involved in sport or just wants to be a bit patriotic and support their country.

“You can go down there and be wearing a top that I have when I was competing or at an opening ceremony.”
