Bartholomew quick out of Brands Hatch blocks
Having been knocked off his perch, one final run came close to sealing pole position, the YESSS Electrical and Ecosphere-backed Cayman just 0.050 second’s shy.
Lewes-based Bartholomew took a front row start for the first of Sunday’s two races. Conditions led to a highly unpredictable contest as a downpour caught out several drivers on lap five. Bartholomew lost the back end of his Cayman heading through Hawthorns and he got beached in the gravel resulting in a non-finish.

He was up to second at Paddock Hill Bend on lap two, before twice trading the lead with Theo Edgerton to grab a superb victory - his first in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB.
Bartholomew said: “I was extremely disappointed with race one, I just got caught out by the shower on the fastest part of the circuit, especially as we were in a solid second place. I was determined to put that right for the final race and I’m really happy to get my maiden win in this series.”
Team boss Simon Leonard said: “A great end to proceedings for us as a team... Jack drove brilliantly all weekend. It was a shame to see him in the gravel in the first race but that charge in the second race was brilliant, as were some of the overtakes he made to get himself there.”
The series continues on June 26-27 at Silverstone.
