Benians is cream of home crop in Lewes Wanderers' time trial
Behind Pete Morris (TMC Race Team), his time of 21min 14sec was only just behind the former Wanderer, but almost two minutes ahead of the tussle behind.

Hide AdDan Street (23:05) got the better of Duncan Fuller (23:10); Gavin Richards (23:16); Peter Baker (23:28); Mike Hannay (23:43) and Tom Moss, who achieved a 48-second PB in 23:55.
And 11th placed Kate Parrish was just five seconds outside her PB, but fastest of the two competing females ahead of Kate Thomas (13th in 25:26) and the sole competitor in the fixed wheel event - Ed Tuckley, tenth in 24:42.
In 12th place, eight seconds inside his PB was Graham Faultless, while 16th placed Paul Harris (26:09) improved by five seconds on his previous mark.

Hide AdNick Dwyer was up in Cambridgeshire for the Veteran Time Trials Association 50-mile Championship promoted by Cambridge CC. If he hadn’t taken the wrong exit at one of the many roundabouts he might have made the top four. His time of 1.44.49 earned sixth place from 103 finishers.
Darren Haynes was 37th in 38.35 in the Sussex Cyclists’ Association 15-mile event.
Peter Baker and Anya Tamplin (Hunt Bike Wheels) were at the Preston Park outdoor velodrome for a round of the Sussex Cycle Racing League Friday Summer Circuits. Peter finished a lap down in 20th out of 21, but Anya beat the other 11 competitors to the line in her 40-minute race and gained enough qualifying points to move up a category.

Hide AdNick Dwyer was back in action as he and his daughter Anna (Drag2Zero) were in an Alton CC/Owens Cycles 10-mile event near Farnham. Anna’s time of 23.12 gave her third place among eight female competitors and 31st overall, while her father’s excellent 20:15 left him fourth.
Over the same distance Joe Benians and Darren Haynes took part in a Horsham CC event near Steyning. Joe was fifth in 21:06, while Darren missed his start and was 34th in 25:14.
Next day Benians was in Derbyshire for the Matlock CC 25-mile time-trial. He beat his PB for the distance to place fifthin 55:10.

Hide AdFour clubmates competed in Lewes Wanderers’ 30-mile championship. New club champion was Gavin Richards, seventh overall in 1.12.27. Two places and 48 seconds behind was Peter Baker, while Neil Edwards placed 18th in 1:22:09.
One of the non-finishers was Vince Busk, who had the misfortune to puncture on the wet roads after 25 miles.
