That was the verdict of members of Chichester Croquet Club who were quick to return to action as soon as outdoor sport was permitted this week.
All was spick-and-span at the club’s lawns at Fishbourne.
Members had cut hedges and grass, painted white lines and storage sheds, cleaned out the clubhouse and completed a myriad of other maintenance chores.
Some players reached their peak performance again effortlessly while others struggled.
However, everyone finished their games with big smiles on their faces in the sunshine and are delighted rules for organised sport are being relaxed.
