Chi were quick out of the blocks and shocked their visitors, shooting to an 11-point lead. Kev Wilson found early offensive rhythm and the Knights’ high-intensity defence unsettled the strong Jam shooters.

The Jam started to find their range and they drew the score at the end of the first quarter to 17-15.

The second quarter saw Connor Ferry find holes in the Jam zone defence, in the paint. The Jam found their rhythm and their shooting display demonstrated why they were unbeaten, winning the quarter 30-14, scoring eight 3-pointers.

Chichester re-grouped, starting the second half with intensity and drive. Dave Turner added scores from inside and outside the arc, spurring on a Knights revival.

The Knights continued to trade blows with the Jam at both ends of the floor. Raf Cuesta was the ‘hot’ hand, scoring a string of shots to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Knights fought to the end but the Jam’s earlier scoring onslaught was too much to overturn.

Chichester Knights travelled to Portsmouth for a midweek clash against fourth-placed Fury.

The Knights squad has been bolstered by the mid-season signing of Zoltan Banyi, a powerful forward with lots to offer the team at both ends.

The Knights started slowly against a compact and well-drilled Fury team, making a flurry of errors to fall to an early deficit. Banyi and Andy Knight combined to settle the Knights offensively, pinning back Fury.

The second quarter was a struggle for Chichester, with the Fury defence really upsetting the Knights rhythm, leading to turnovers and easy fast-break points.
