Bognor No5 Jon Corke pulled back the second game to level against Joe Mack but lost 4-11, 11-4, 5-11, 5-11 and fourth string Pat Jones went down in straight games against Andy Birch, who won 11-5, 11,4, 11-9.

Steve Enfield was at No3 for Bognor but he made little impression on Coral’s Luke Howlett who won 11-2, 11-7, 11-2.

The visitors’ one bright spot was at second string where Callum Greasley started well against Dan Clarke taking the first two games, dropping the third but sealing the win in a close-fought fourth - score 11-8, 11-8, 3-11, 12-10.

Uncharacteristically, Bognor No1 Greg Jansz failed to pick up even one game, despite a great attempt in the third, and he lost 9-11, 3-11, 10-12 to Ross Bryant, giving the home team a 4-1 margin and 18 points to Bognor’s four.
