Trainer Gary Moore, based in Horsham, hopes their stable star can continue his red-hot form into the Grade 1 Cheltenham JCB Triumph Hurdle which takes place on the final day of the festival on Friday, March 13.

He said: “The Cheltenham Festival is the Olympics of our sport and it’s great to be heading there this year with some good chances – especially in Goshen.”

Goshen is currently priced around 4/1 for the contest and is going into the race off six successive victories – with the last three ridden by Gary’s son Jamie Moore.

Jamie has ridden Goshen to consecutive wins at Ascot, Sandown and Fontwell this season, with the four-year-old claiming wins at Nottingham Sandown and Brighton before that.

The 35-year-old jockey told Great British Racing: “Goshen is a fantastic horse who seems to be getting better and stronger after each race. Hopefully he can continue that into next week for what is a huge race.”

Jamie and Gary have enjoyed 418 wins together in total throughout their careers. The pair have enjoyed previous success at the festival back in 2014 when Sire De Grugy secured the BetVictor Queen Mother Champion Chase, with Gary also training Tikram to victory in the Mildmay of Flete Challenge Cup Handicap Chase during the 2004 Cheltenham Festival.

Moors snr, 63, is also set to have Traffic Fluide, A Toi Phil, Not Another Muddle and Beat The Judge running at Cheltenham, where four days of top-class action begins on Tuesday.

He said: “It’s brilliant to be working every day with all the family. We are lucky enough to have some great staff here aswell, but to enjoy success with the family you cant really beat it. Any winner is great, but if we were to have a big win at Cheltenham next week, it would be really special.”
