The green was playing perfectly as current members and a few new faces warmed up for more friendly fixtures to come. The club would like to encourage new players and is using the hashtag #letsplaybowls. Free sessions are ongoing and are available to anyone who wishes to have a go.

Following months of restrictions, the club wants to encourage everyone to get out into the open air, keep fit doing a low impact sport, use their skills, get social and make new friends.

The game is suitable for all ages to play during the week, evenings and weekends. The Bowls Big Weekend stops off at Newhaven over this coming Bank Holiday weekend and the club open day is on Saturday (May 29) from 10am.

Experienced club members will be on hand at the sessions to help all ages and all abilities from beginners to experienced players. Following current COVID guidelines and whatever the weather, they ask anyone who is interested to contact us to register your interest. On the day, bring flat shoes but all other equipment is provided.

The club can be found at in Fort Road, near to the cricket and football grounds. For more information see the website, www.newhavenbowlingclub.weebly.com or the club’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Alternatively you can contact Stuart 07401 663519.
