The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed delivered four unforgettable days of motorsport, with thousands of fans gathering in West Sussex to celebrate legendary machines, racing heroes and the future of the sport.

In this photo gallery, courtesy of Michael Reed, we take a look back at some of the best moments from this year’s Sussex spectacular – from iconic Formula 1 cars and historic racers to the latest innovations shaping the future of competition.

The theme for this year’s Festival of Speed was ‘The Rivals – Epic Racing Duels’, celebrating more than 100 years of motorsport history and the legendary battles that have defined the sport. From famous manufacturer rivalries to unforgettable driver showdowns, the event brought together some of the greatest cars and motorcycles ever built.

As stated on the motorsportuk.org website: “The famous 1.16-mile hillclimb remained the centrepiece of the festival with plenty of new and rare cars in action including exciting debuts for the Toyota GR GT hybrid supercar, next-generation Alpine A110 prototype, Denza Z electric supercar, Red Bull RB17 and Renault 5 Turbo 3E.

"For racing fans McLaren brought along a 1976 M23 to celebrate 50 years of James Hunt’s famous Formula 1 title along with the never-seen-in-public 1993 Lamborghini V12-powered MP4/8 test car, tested in period by Ayrton Senna and driven up the hill by his nephew Bruno.

"Reigning World Champion Lando Norris made a popular appearance and debuted the new MCL-HY World Endurance Championship Hypercar.”

The festival also welcomed appearances from racing legends, modern-day stars and sporting heroes, with Olympic athletes joining F1 drivers and motorsport icons in celebrating the spectacle both on and off the hill.

The Festival of Speed also showed that fans do not have to simply watch motorsport – they can take part. Hill climbs, sprints and accessible rally events provide opportunities for newcomers to experience competition using their own cars and develop the skills needed to progress.
