In the women’s race, Cassie Thorp (City of Portsmouth AC) was the class of the field, winning in 34:37, missing the course record by 30 seconds, which is currently held by Holly Dixon (Cambridge Harriers).
The 15mph winds prevented any super-fast times for the race winners, but the flat course still meant several PBs were achieved by many among the masses.
Crystal Mustchin of Lancing dipped under the 60-minute barrier with a time of 59:08.
