Manager Darren Guirey said: 'Michael was hurt after only five minutes following a collision of heads. He had eight stitches in a wound around the eye and has badly bruised the eye socket and cheekbone.

'That was a real sickener, but the lads were terrific on the night and played some great football. It was goalless at half-time but might have been 2-2, but we murdered them in the second half and were well worth our win. The goals from Ryan Walton and Simon Bailey were copybook from Jamie Wright crosses.'

Peacehaven were 2-0 up through Simon Bailey and Jason Stepney against Ifield Edwards on Saturday but Guirey said they 'went to sleep' as the hosts pulled back to 2-2. Stepney and Bailey each scored again for 4-2 and Mark Price made it five with the best goal of the game from a free-kick.

Peacehaven can make sure of the league title with a win at Forest tomorrow when Page and Ash Bailey, who is on a stag weekend, will be missing.
