Park bowlers impress at Nationals

TEAMS from Egerton Park Bowls Club produced some impressive performances to progress in the EIBA National Four Championship.

Steve Nevard, Ernie Harris, Steve Sands and Trevor Monk survived the first two rounds after good wins over teams from the Preston Club.

They could meet another Park team in the next round as Vince Lyons, Dave Shorey, Colin Murray and Peter Gunston had a comfortable win over Alex Parsons at Wealden, and now meet Preston's Ollie Ovett for the honour of playing Monk.

Nigel Hooper's team also recorded a good win and will now travel to Falaise to play the team skipped by Steve Jeapes.

Stuart Holland jnr, Charles Wright and Colin and Kevin Carrie beat England international Richard Moses 17-16 in a thrilling encounter. They visit Langney in round four.
