Paul Reid writes about Albion keeper Michel Kuipers reaching his testimonial

ALBION'S Dutch keeper Michel Kuipers signed a new two-year contract last week, which will take him to a testimonial with the club.

He is already the most successful foreign player in the club's history, so that's one record he's got. But he's also got the record for being the tightest with money.

He doesn't like being fined, and wants to fight people whenever he is. He gets really aggressive and no-one wants to mess with him, but everyone knows how to wind him up.

Players get fined for things such as being late for training, and leaving things around in the changing room, but some people at the club now do things to set Michel up.

He's been at the club for eight years, and I've been there for four years, but he still lets people wind him up. He should just play it cool.

He's always trying to do deals with the debt collector, Nicky Forster, to get money off fines. But, when Nicky joined, we warned him what Michel was like.

But, seriously, since I've been at the club, Michel has been one of the most consistent players.

Even though he's tight and gets wound up easily, he's a top-class keeper. He was right up there to be Player of the Year last season, and kept us in numerous games.

His best attribute is his shot-stopping, but a lot of people talk about his kicking. He's worked so much on it and that speaks volumes about him. He's definitely improved it.

He also worked so hard to come back from his shoulder injury a couple of years back. And, whenever he's lost his place, he's always got it back.

He deserves his testimonial, and I'm sure the fans are more than happy he's got one, because he's a legend at the club.
