Regis entered a small team at the Chichester Floor and Vault invitational and came away with four medals. Tatiana Elkins took a bronze medal for her floor routine in the ten-years intermediate category and Lily Robinson took bronze for her vault in ten-years novice.

It was the turn of the older advanced gymnasts later in the day. This was only their second time competing at this level and they did extremely well with Rosie Capper and Bethany Dugdale taking silver medals, both for their floor routines in the 12-plus advanced category.

The club’s higher-level gymnasts travelled to Crawley to take part in the regional floor and vault championships. This is a very large competition with gymnasts from Kent, Surrey and Sussex competing for regional titles. Bethany performed brilliantly across both pieces to become regional champion, with Elinor Haines in third and Rosie taking fourth place.

Madeleine Russell took a bronze medal in the 11 years advanced category, competing a handspring vault for the first time in competition as well as a very clean floor routine.

Brothers Willem and Johan Keijser-Petch completed a one-two for Regis in the ten-12 years advanced category with Willem achieving one of the highest floor scores of the day.

Several of the gymnasts will now compete at bronze level next year, which makes them eligible to compete in the Sussex championships.
