Riding for Disabled camp gets cash boost

COURT Meadow RDA, which organises riding for pupils at the Cuckfield-based school, has received a welcome boost to funds in the form of a cheque for £495 from Waitrose, Burgess Hill, as part of a newly-introduced scheme, Community Matters.

Each month Waitrose donates 1,000 to three local good causes. Shoppers at the checkout choose which of the three, previously nominated charities they wish to support and the 1,000 is divided accordingly.

The Court Meadow RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) will use the money towards the cost of running camp week.

This is annual activity takes place at the club's base at Ditchling Common Stud.

The children are each able to attend for two days during the week and get the opportunity to experience grooming and tacking up, in addition to their normal riding lesson, which may be an escorted ride down the lane if the weather is fine.
