ROUND-ISLAND SUCCESS FOR ARUN
ARUN Yacht Club competed in the recent annual JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race competing against such celebrities as Ellen McArthur.
The Arun club very nearly covered itself in glory as David Robinson took Dedicated Dancer to third place in class 7A, Richard Dobson in Sooper Trooper came in in second place in class 7B, and Andy Walker, crewed by his wife and daughter in Scampi, took second place in the Yachting Monthly Trophy, awarded for a family crewed boat.
According to the handicaps, Scampi should have been the slowest boat in the fleet.
Andy comprehensively showed the handicapper the error of his ways and finished ahead of more than 100 boats.
