RUGBY: Raiders ready for Bridgwater

WORTHING RAIDERS Rugby Club hope to have players back from injury on Saturday for their trip to bottom-of-the-table Bridgwater & Albion.

Raiders have slipped to third from bottom, with games in hand on some sides above them, after their 18-5 defeat to Ealing two weeks ago, which increased their winless run to four matches.

Following a week off, Raiders could welcome Greg Walker, Jack Maslen and Adam Halsey back from injury, and Matt McLean, who returned from injury against Ealing, is getting stronger.

Worthing team manager David Hinchcliffe said: "They are bottom and struggling a bit, so we need to go there and do the business.

"We've had a week off, so we've got players returning and should be stronger than in previous games.

"We've got to go there and play our own game. Historically, they are a big forward side. They look to hold the ball up in the forwards and not run it about.

"We prefer to move the ball, so have got to make sure we play our game."

Worthing coach Will Green added: "We're looking forward to going there but are against a side fighting for survival, so it's going to be a very tough game. They'll be very difficult opposition in their situation."

Bridgwater got the double over Worthing last season with 19-15 and 42-15 victories.

Raiders leave for the game in Somerset at 9am for a 3pm start.
