Head coach Steve Dove and first-team captain Jack Tompkins (pictured) are determined to put last season’s disappointments behind them and they are delighted with the response so far from their young squad of players.

Dove will be aiming to utilise his vast playing experience during his first season at the helm while the outstanding Tompkins could be embarking on a long reign as captain.

They will be ably supported by old campaigners Paul and Nigel Mitchell who will be running the second team, and by Brad Hares who will be the new third-team captain.

Three home pre-season friendlies have been arranged, beginning with Hellingly on August 24, but, in the meantime, anyone wishing to play for Bognor should turn up for training any Tuesday or Thursday at 7pm or contact director of rugby Leighton Thomas on 07841 436327.
