Last week, volunteers from the club collected donated food parcels at local Aldi, Tesco and Waitrose stores which were then dispatched to Lewes food bank initiatives.

Members from the men’s women’s and junior sections contributed to the collection of 4,751 items from shoppers and helped sort and deliver them to collection stations.

As well as the men’s section volunteers pictured thanks went to women’s section volunteers Amie Noone, Nicky Carey, Rab Willis, Rob Williams and Lydia Furse, and Jo Sunderland Bowe, Paddy Henshaw, Mark Hall, Rob Moore and Matthew Henshaw from the junior section.

Meanwhile, men’s rugby training has re-commenced at the Stanley Turner Ground on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, starting at 7pm.

All sessions are in accordance with stage B of the RFU’s six-stage ‘Return to Rugby’ road map, with due regard to social distancing and no face-to-face contact.

Both current and new players are welcome at these sessions. News will follow regarding other sections’ face-to-face training.
