New appointments can drive Lewes Women's rugby team forward

Lewes’ women’s rugby squad have welcomed two new appointments.

New director of rugby is Paddy O’Hara and deputy Director of rugby is Cat Thompson.

They will be a major driving force for Lewes Women this season, heading up a new coaching set-up for the section.

O’Hara said: “I am delighted to have been appointed. Although I am new to the club, I have followed Lewes RFC closely in my previous roles as head coach for the Sussex RFU Women’s team and Sussex Girls.

“Lewes has always struck me as a fantastic, well-run club and I’m really looking forward to working with the players, coaches and committee.

“Having played since 12 and coached for nearly 20 years, I bring a lot of experience in a wide range of settings and it is my aim help create an environment in which everyone can realise their potential.

Thompson added: “I’m so happy to be part of Lewes’ positive future, I’m dedicated to women’s rugby and the successful road Lewes is on.”
