Old Albanian beaten by Worthing Raiders - the match in 27 pictures

Worthing Raiders beat Old Albanian 38-20 in front of a large and lively crowd at Roundstone Lane.

This was a pulsating game of rugby and several spectators suggested it had been the best game of rugby they had ever seen at Roundstone Lane, writes Colin Coulson. Certainly, there had been some outstanding individual and team tries on show plus brilliant defensive play especially from Raiders.

To have a player sent off after 12 minutes and go on to win against the league leaders is quite some achievement. Although there was a red card and three yellow cards in the game it was not a dirty game, in fact it was played in great spirit between the two sides.

This win puts Raiders in fourth place in the league with 25 points, just one point behind the leaders.

MoM could have gone to any of the Raiders’ squad but eventually it was between Curtis Barnes and Tom Bowen for their outstanding contributions and in the end went to Curtis.
