Fifth-from-bottom Raiders go into the match on the back of four successive defeats but Miles said: “Coming back after a week off with a game against the leaders is going to focus the lads a lot more.

“If we were coming back against Hull, for example, the lads might not be as focused.

“We’ll go into the game and give it 110 per cent as we have to every game.

“It’s going to be a tough ask but if we can pick up a point or two, it would be a good day.”

Looking ahead to the rest of the season, Miles said: “The aim is to win at least another six or seven games and move away from the relegation zone.

“We’ve identified in the last couple of weeks that the way we close out games has not been fantastic and our tactics in certain areas haven’t been fantastic, so there’s something to work on.”

On the season so far, Miles added: “It’s been encouraging but frustrating so far. It’s been a real eye-opener for the club but if we can correct our mistakes, we’ll win a lot more games.

“We’ve lost a lot of games through our own mistakes and own naïvety this season but our defence has been a lot better the last two games and we always score a lot of tries.”
