Rocks Review: Prices go up, but we're still good value

Adults will pay £9 per game – the first increase in four years.

A club spokesman said: “This is still lower than when we last competed in the Ryman premier three years ago.

“It’s also lower than the vast majority of premier-division clubs – £10 is the norm.”

Under-18s, students and unemployed people will be able to watch for £3, while a seat in the stand will cost an extra £1.

Although there will still be no reduced price for senior citizens at individual matches, season tickets for OAPs will work out at only £5.95 per match.

Season tickets for under-18s are only £30 for the season.

An adult season ticket will cost £150 - or £166 to include a stand seat.

Meanwhile, the Rocks have arranged a tough programme of pre-season fixtures to get them sharp for their Ryman premier-division campaign.

The action begins with a visit to Sussex League first-division side Selsey on Monday, July 16, before AFC Wimbledon visit on Saturday, July 21, for a game agreed between the clubs when top scorer Jason Prior was sold to the League Two outfit in January.

The Rocks visit their old rivals Havant & Waterlooville on Friday, July 27, and host another county-league top-flight team, neighbours Pagham, on Sunday, July 29.

Leatherhead, who have just dropped out of the Ryman premier after gaining promotion last year, are at Nyewood Lane on wednesday, August 1, before the Rocks go to Godalming on Saturday 4.

The final planned game is at home to Worthing on Friday, August 10 – eight days before the league season starts.

The Rocks have yet to sign any new faces but are making good progress in re-signing key members of last season’s squad.
