With ten positional changes from last week due to injury and unavailability it took Horsham a while to settle.

The game remained scoreless for 14 minutes until Bromley kicked a penalty and then scored a try after turning over possession and finishing clinically.

Horsham’s scrum was dominant throughout and on 23 minutes skipper Matt Brown having already turned down a kick at goal boldly directed fly half Will Bell to kick for the corner and from this position Jonny Ordidge picked up from the back of another strong Horsham scrum to crash over the line.

Brown then declined another easy three points and from a scrum in front of the posts Rob Grantham-Hill scored again to put the Green and Whites 12-10 up at half time.

Shortly after the restart Horsham were further disrupted by an injury to Bell, which saw Iain Fisher come off the bench, Ordidge move into the backs and Price to fly half where he is more comfortable.

But within two minutes Bromley had regained the lead with a try from another turnover.

Jamie Gibbs was stopped just short of the line having raced 40 yards in Horsham’s first attack of the half, and the hosts then scored a third try to take a seemingly unassailable 23-12 lead on 65 minutes.

But from there the fightback began as Price fired out a long pass to man of the match O’Rahilly to run in to the left corner before the award of a penalty try gave Horsham the lead in the final minute of normal time.

The amount of stoppages meant there was still time for Bromley to cross the line from a rolling maul to lead 30-24 well into injury time.

But one final twist saw Price direct a long kick into the corner and from the ensuing lineout, quick ball was generated for Taylor to score and Price held his nerve with the decisive conversion to give Horsham a dramatic victory.
