Run series reaches finale

The third and final race in the Rye Summer Classic Series will take place this evening (Friday).

After kicking-off with a 10K in July and continuing with a 5K last month, the series will conclude with another 5K run which will get under way from the earlier time of 6.30pm at Rye Sailing Club.

Although advance entry numbers haven’t been huge, organisers Nice Work are hoping for a decent entry on the day and are anticipating a field of around 100 runners if the weather is good.

The male and female series winners will receive a pair of running shoes of their choice courtesy of The Emperor’s New Shoes, which is based in Rye, but all runners are welcome to try their luck on the fast and flat course through Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. There will also be a children’s race at around 6.15pm.
