Ryder Cup star to play in golf Pro-Am

A FORMER Ryder Cup star and a host of top club professionals from all over the south are heading to Cooden Beach Golf Club.

One time Ryder Cup player Paul Way, who also played in the event's inaugural staging last year, is the headline act among an impressive line-up for the Hastings Direct PGA Cooden Masters Pro-Am on Friday July 8.

Host club professionals Jeff Sim and Shaun Creasey, plus other local professionals Dan Coote, Mark Davis and Charles Giddins are also taking part.

"It's a brilliant line-up," said Creasey, Cooden's assistant professional, "and it's stronger than last year."

Thirty-five teams of four players will be taking part in the 18-hole event and the two best nett scores of the four on each hole will count for the team prize. There is also a separate individual competition for the professionals.
