Saturday's league cricket round-up

LITTLEHAMPTON Cricket Club lost their top-of-the-table clash at Chichester in Sussex League Division 2 by seven wickets on Saturday.

Justin Scott top-scored with an unbeaten 40 and captain Benn Challen hit 38 as Littlehampton were bowled out for 196, with Dan Joseph taking four wickets.

Chichester captain Danny Oliver then struck 85 as Chichester cruised home.

Littlehampton remain second after the two sides below them, Stirlands and Haywards Heath, drew. Littlehampton are now 15 points ahead of third-placed Stirlands, with Heath a further eight points back.

Chichester, with six wins from their seven matches, lead Littlehampton by 25 points.

In the Invitation League, Arundel still lead the Division 2 table after their draw at second-placed Lindfield.

Left-arm spinner Neil Chitty took 5-37 and leg-spinner Rakesh Parmar 4-42 as Arundel bowled Lindfield out for 194.

Rain reduced Arundel's reply by six overs and they finished on 81-4 from 40 overs.

In Division 3, there were victories for Clymping and East Preston.

EP are now top of the table after their five-wicket win at bottom-of-the-table Barns Green.

Darryl Rebbetts took four Green wickets as they were bowled out for 134, then Sean, Darryl's brother, smashed an unbeaten 82.

EP enjoyed a comfortable six-wicket success at home to Scaynes Hill.

James Salisbury took 4-48 as Hill were bowled out for 161. Kim Dean and Andy Dick both then hit half-centuries in Clymping's winning reply of 164-4.

In Division 4, Rustington dropped to the bottom after their six-wicket defeat at second-placed Storrington.

Rustington made just 136 with captain Jamie Howick top-scoring with 62.

Dan Le Roux's unbeaten 89 then guided Storrington home.
