SECOND TIME LUCKY?

LITTLEHAMPTON Golf Club are hoping to go a step further than last year and win the Davies & Tate Matchplay Championships.

Last year's final saw Littlehampton lose out 6-5 against East Sussex National at The Dyke. They play Copthorne on Saturday at Royal Eastbourne Golf Club and expecting a close game.

Davies & Tate team captain Howard Chipperfield said: "It's going to be a tough because they are a good team who have had good results. I'm sure it will be a close."

Chipperfield added: "We are all looking forward to it and the team are confident. We think we are the underdogs but will go there and do out best, out on a good show and hopefully go one better than last year."
