Shetland Pony achieves major double

A fine double has completed an outstanding season for Debbie Emery, of Earnley, and her home-bred Shetland driving pony, Earnley Stormburst. They followed up on winning the National Driving Championship at Whiddon Down, Okehampton, by taking the breed Top Performance Points championship.

A" Stormburst has won both events before, but never in the same year, so we are delighted," said Debbie.

The ten-year-old Shetland has enjoyed a fine year, winning many private driving classes, harness club marathons, social events and showing classes,a and also winning at the Southdown Harness Club's show.

The key to his success is little and often exercise, enabling him to enter the arena in a relaxed manner. Throughout the season he won two or three marathons a month, and particularly enjoys this type of challenge.
