Sidley season rests on cup clash

THE fate of Sidley United's season could well be determined by a trip to Arundel in the SCFA RUR Charity Cup quarter-finals on Saturday February 1.

The competition is United's only remaining chance of silverware this season and a relatively kind semi-final tie with Selsey awaits the winners.

Asked if the game is the biggest of the club's season, joint manager Peter Heritage replied: "Definitely. I'm confident that we will go down there and get a result.

"The attitude in training has improved a lot and there's a good spirit there now. The top six is what we have got to aim for. That and a cup final appearance would be a good season."

Jimmy Watson returns from holiday so Heritage selects from an almost full strength squad.

Meanwhile, Heritage hasn't pursued his interest in Terry White saying it was more of a polite enquiry than a serious transfer swoop, although the door remains open.
