Rain caused postponement of the match last Saturday because of a waterlogged track.

Eastbourne were keen to quickly get back on track having lost two matches to the weather since they last rode at Coventry Storm on Easter Monday.

Injuries to Kyle Hughes and Richie Andrews have forced a reshuffle of the team with Adam Ellis, Ellis Perks and Luke Harris all set to debut against Kent.

On Good Friday the Eagles were heavily defeated by the Kent Kings in home and away challenge matches but club director Connor Dugard is predicting it will be a different story at Arlington on Saturday night.

“We had injuries, some machinery problems and were a bit unlucky that day.

“We are determined to put matters right when it really matters with league points now up for grabs.

“Since then we have been practising and been busy in the workshops. We think we have found the problems and ironed things out.

“The form we displayed in our victory at Coventry showed exactly what we are capable of.

“Kent have made an excellent start to their season but our job is put the Kings back in their place and re-establish superiority over our nearest rivals.”

Last year the IT First Eagles won every match against Kent, including success in the KO Cup and a Fours tournament at their Sittingbourne track.

Adam Ellis, the Arlington National League track record holder, will take the No 1 spot in the Eagles’ team.

Ellis Perks will slot in at number three.

Luke Harris will be a reserve, along with Charley Powell.

Nick Phillips is unavailable for the rearranged fixture because of a pre-booked holiday and the Eagles will use the rider replacement facility to cover his four rides at No 2.

Georgie Wood will be captain in place of Andrews.
