Sussex u15s badminton stars battle to great victory

The Sussex Under 15s badminton team battled to an excellent win over a strong Hampshire side at the Horsham Arun Performance Centre on Saturday.

In a great all round performance every member of the team contributed at least one winning match, giving the Sussex youngsters a 12 – 8 victory.

The Hampshire team had been beaten only once so far this season and were expected to provide strong opposition. However, Sussex were at the top of their game and a number of fine performances saw them clinch the tie by four matches.

Star performers were Emma Ford (Horsham) who won all four of the matches she played and Thomas Wood (Hurstpierpoint) who won three including a superb win over the highly rated Hampshire number one boy. Adam Davies (Hassocks), Xander Tosney (Burgess Hill) and Eva Craig (Haywards Heath) also made valuable contributions to this stunning team effort.
