Teen racer from Worthing accelerates into Britain’s elite karting ranks

A 15-year-old karting driver from Worthing and student at Durrington High School has quickly risen through the ranks since first stepping into a kart at age 12.
From reaching the British Indoor Karting Championship Regional Finals to claiming P2 in the Brighton Kartmasters Championship and winning in Daytona’s adult dominated DMAX Karting Series, Ashton Woolger has already proven himself a formidable competitor.
Ashton’s 2026 season is set to be his most ambitious yet competing in the prestigious Club100 Championship and he is regarded as one of the UK’s most exciting young racers.
Ashton first stepped into a kart at age 12, where his natural speed and competitive instinct became immediately clear. Beginning with indoor karting he reached the Regional Finals of the British Indoor Karting Championship before progressing on to outdoor competition.

Ashton contested his first outdoor championship at Brighton Kartmasters last year, securing an impressive P2 in the championship.
Building on that success, Ashton advanced to the highly competitive Daytona Championships at Sandown Park, stepping up to the DMAX category – 70mph karts typically dominated by adult racers.
Despite being just 14, he consistently fought among the front‑runners, trading fastest laps with seasoned drivers. His determination paid off in December 2025, when he achieved his first win, finishing 5th overall in a closely fought championship.
Ashton’s 2026 season is set to be his most ambitious yet, thanks to the support of his sponsors: Quercus Nursery (Ferring) and The Bearded Runner, Henry Ainsley, a dedicated mental‑health and PTSD awareness campaigner.

With their backing, Ashton is competing in the prestigious Club100 Championship—widely regarded as the peak of rental karting in Europe and hosted at premier circuits across the UK.
He has already made a strong start, impressing at his first Club100 outing at Whilton Mill, where his performance secured him a placed with the quickest competitors in the ‘A’ final. Despite torrential rain and being taken out on the first lap, Ashton fought back through to finish 8th out of 79.
Ashton has also secured entry into the elite 2026 Kart Race of Champions at Buckmore Park, and First Rotax Racing Club International Finals 2026 at Silverstone, where top rental kart drivers from around the world will go head‑to‑head.
Beyond racing, Ashton is committed to understanding the sport from the inside out. He recently completed work experience with Team BRIT in Pulborough, gaining hands‑on experience preparing race cars and working closely with the engineering team.

Displaying maturity beyond his years, Ashton supports his racing career financially through his job at Quercus Nursery and by running his own home‑based valeting service regularly works on high‑performance vehicles including Mercedes‑AMGs, Porsches, and Ford Mustangs.
With motorsport being one of the most expensive sports to compete in, Ashton welcomes conversations with businesses interested in sponsorship partnerships.
Supporting Ashton not only helps propel a talented young driver toward a professional career but also offers local and national brands the opportunity to be represented across major UK karting championships.
