Thunder have played without an import player so far this season but Hildreth said: “We’re in negotiations to bring an American in, a bigger body to help in and around the basket.

“You see how hard this team has to work for one another because there isn’t someone, so we’ve got to bring someone in who will buy into the system.

“They’ve got to be an addition, rather than instead of someone.

“We’re very precise with the type of guy we want to bring in and, hopefully, with all the paperwork going into place I’m excited about making that addition and I think it will help us even more.

“It’s all down to paperwork now. Once that’s all sorted, we’ll book a flight and get him here as quick as we can.

“I know he’s super excited and ready to get here, so it’s just a matter of time.”
