Thunder remain bottom as winless run continues

Worthing Thunder Basketball Club will go into the Christmas break bottom of the EBL Division 1 table after suffering two home defeats over the weekend.

After a 100-70 loss at home to Bristol Academy Flyers on Saturday, Thunder lost 101-75 to Westminster Warriors on Sunday and have now lost all 10 of their league matches this season.

Thunder’s Jack Sunderland said after the game on Sunday: “I just think at the moment our confidence is so low.

“We need to re-group as a team and work on what we need to do to start winning some games, as I believe we actually are better than what we’re playing. Hopefully, the break is what we need to re-charge.”

Bud Johnston led Thunder’s scoring at Westminster with 20 points with Hank Rivers adding a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Dominic Baker got 11, including three triples.
