Tight finish in DFS Hickstead Derby

HICKSTEAD's Derby meeting was full of outstanding performances, and there could not have been a greater thrilling finale on Sunday than the DFS Hickstead Derby when Tina Fletcher, riding Promised Land, and Guy Williams aboard Skip Two Ramiro, were both clear, forcing a jump-off in the 50th running of the event.

Both jumped clear again, but a much faster round from Guy, which was almost 16 seconds quicker than Tina's, gained him the title.

Guy (38) has been competing at Hickstead for 30 years

In the past, a three element jump has been costly to Guy and Skip Two Ramiro, known as Skippy at home and owned by David Walker.
