Trio receive GB call-ups

Three members of 1066 Triathletes have earned places in the Great Britain age group teams in two separate championship events.

Roy Beeley (65-69 age group) and Dave Dixon (50-54 age group) will compete in the Almere European Triathlon Union (ETU) Long Distance Championships in the Netherlands on September 13. That event will be held over the Ironman distances of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile marathon run.

Then on October 18, Dan Harlott (45-49 age group) will take part in the Mallorca Middle Distance ETU Triathlon Championships, comprising a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run.

Two other club members are also taking on Ironman distance triathlons, Nick Bridger at Almere and Tony Whitehead at Ironman Mexico on November 30.
