Two more departure from title-winning Horsham side

Goalkeeper Gareth Williams and defender Ryan Storrie will not be rejoining Horsham next season.

The stopper who has made more than 100 appearance for the Hornets in two spells will not be able to commit to the travel involved for Ryman League football.

The popular number one, whose season was cut short last year due to injury, has decided, along with manager Dominic Di Paola, that due to living in London, he cannot pledge the time required to the step up.

Full-back Storrie, who signed for the club last summer, has joined the ranks of the growing force in the Southern Combination League, Shoreham.

Jack Rowe-Hurst, who made limited appearances last year, has also joined up with Mussels assistant manager Kevin Keehan.

Horsham manager Dominic Di Paola said: “Gareth is not going to play next year, it’s too far for him. It’s a four-hour round trip and he cannot train with us.

“He is a good keeper in his own right, but midweek games he was getting there 40 minutes before kick-off.

“He did a great job for us, 30-odd games last season, but it really is just too far. During the week, you like to get there at half-six, wind down after work and stretch your legs, it just was not working.

“With Ryan, we always knew he was not going to stay involved. Last year he was brilliant for us and goes with our best wishes.

“He deserves to play week-in, week-out. Last year he was always one I felt sorry for as he was doing a good job, but kept losing his place.”

Youngster Harry Smith, who left the club at the tail end of last season, will also not be rejoining.
