VANDALISM POSTPONES PORTSLADE'S OPENER

PORTSLADE'S scheduled home game with Middleton was postponed on Saturday after vandalism to the wicket. On Friday evening, a tap near the square was turned on which made the whole wicket and outfield unplayable.

Portslade captain Jamie Howick said: "The whole square was sodden and was still wet two hours after play was due to begin. Both ourselves and Middleton will write a letter to the Invitation League asking them if we can play this game at the end of the season."
